Display Characteristics & Expectation

Screen Brightness & Tone: Kaleido 3 color E-Ink screens are naturally darker and grayer than traditional LCD or OLED displays. This muted appearance is a normal physical characteristic of color E-Ink technology, not a manufacturing defect.

Minor Micro-Spots: Industry standards classify small black or white specs on the screen as normal behavior provided they do not exceed 0.5 mm in diameter.

App Compatibility & Performance

Optimized Use: Most standard mobile apps are built for high-refresh-rate LCD/OLED screens with vivid animations. Because E-Ink displays rely on physically moving electrophoretic particles, refresh rates are slower.

Trade-offs: Running graphic- or animation-heavy apps may result in a slower experience compared to standard tablets. This performance limitation is an inherent characteristic of low-power E-Ink displays rather than a hardware malfunction.
