The Mic Mini 2S transmitter weighs approximately 12 grams and includes 14.5GB of internal storage, supporting up to 28 hours of loop recording at 24-bit quality. Recording formats include standard 24-bit and 32-bit float.

Wireless range reaches up to 400 meters using the camera-style receiver, and the system supports up to four transmitters connected to a single receiver simultaneously. Audio output modes include mono, stereo, and quad. Data transfer from the charging case runs at up to 34MB/s.

Each transmitter now includes 14.5GB of internal memory capable of continuous loop recording at 24-bit or 32-bit float quality, operating independently of the receiver connection. If the receiver signal drops, audio continues saving directly to the transmitter for up to 28 hours at default 24-bit quality. Combined with support for up to four simultaneous transmitters on a single receiver. 

The receiver supports mono, stereo, and quad modes. In quad mode, four independent audio tracks are output simultaneously. A safety track feature in the DJI Mimo app records a secondary backup at -6 dB per channel as additional protection against clipping. The new receiver also pairs with older Mic Mini and Mic Mini 2 transmitters, preserving backward compatibility.

Internal Recording and Onboard Storage

Each transmitter records audio locally and continuously while powered on, independent of whether a receiver is connected. Two output modes are available for those locally stored files: the Original File retains full unprocessed data for post-production, while the Processed File delivers a pre-optimized result ready for immediate use. Files transfer from the charging case at up to 34MB/s, meaning 30 minutes of 24-bit audio offloads in roughly 8 seconds. The 32-bit float option captures an expanded dynamic range that can recover audio from clipping situations in post, removing the need for manual gain adjustments during recording.

AI Noise Cancellation and Audio Control

The 2S includes a two-tier AI noise reduction system. Weak Noise Reduction suppresses indoor background noise such as fans and HVAC hum, while Strong Noise Reduction targets heavier outdoor ambient noise including traffic.

DJI OsmoAudio and Ecosystem Integration

Via DJI OsmoAudio Bluetooth, up to two transmitters stream 48kHz/24-bit audio directly to compatible devices including the Osmo Pocket 4, Osmo 360, Osmo Nano, and Osmo Action 6, with no separate receiver needed.

The transmitter pairing button can also trigger camera recording functions, aligning internal audio files with the camera’s clip management.

For traditional setups, a DJI hot shoe adapter enables the camera-style receiver to connect to compatible Sony cameras, delivering four independent tracks while drawing power directly from the camera body.
